After Dinner Speaker - Master of Ceremonies - Author - Journalist -Broadcaster
Brought up on a strict diet of rugby league but to be honest just plain sport mad is how the former secretary and lifelong supporter of Rochdale Hornets describes himself.
Add to this a 15 year career in the media as a BBC sporting commentator who was twice voted Commentator of the Year and the enigma that is “Malcolm Lord” begins to emerge.
“I was lucky enough to visit Australia twice, France and Barcelona and get paid for it” says Malcolm who has been married for nearly 40 years and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
Whilst at the BBC Malcolm was lucky enough to work at the now “old wembley stadium” over 20 times and explore the dressing rooms and other areas rarely seen by members of the public, a fact he still finds hard to believe.
In 1995 he wrote his first book and followed this by moving into the world of after dinner speaking, where, as a Master of Ceremonies he has created for himself a niche which sees him constantly in demand throughout the UK and beyond.
Malcolm considers himself privilidged to have worked with many of the biggest names from the worlds of sport and showbusiness and yet still refuses to take any of it for granted, appreciating every minute of a life which he truly loves, a fact that shines through in his totally professional and consistent performances.
